As required by the Report 7 PowerPoint, for this blog, I will answer a question from each prompt from AnswerThePublic.com when you type Hip Hop in the box. And here are the questions and answers I have selected to talk about:



Are hip hop and rap the same thing?

Hip Hop is a culture with four elements (which I mentioned in the last blog posts) – DJing, MCing, graffiti, and breaking. And rap is a form of popular music that grew out of Hip Hop culture. KRS-ONE famously summarized the distinction with the classic aphorism, “Rap is something you do.



Can hip hop dance improve fitness why or why not?

Yes, all dancers are athletes. And have it in them to improve their bodies and fitness as well as exercise because you are burning calories when you're moving your body a lot and through Hip Hop dance, it would definitely improve your fitness.



How Hip Hop influenced society?

Hip Hop culture has had the biggest influence on street culture, informing plenty of the style trends and clothing brands that rose to prominence. In just a few decades, it evolved from fringe subculture to the most dominant force in pop culture. B-boys and b-girls wore Adidas tracksuits and straight-legged denim over Puma Suede sneakers or Adidas Superstars customized with fat laces. "Movements like punk were founded on anti-fashion ideals and stood in contrast to consumption and capitalism. Hip-hop fully embraced it from the start, seeing dressing up as its own competition — and every rapper boasted he dressed better than the rest."



What hip hop meaning?

According to the dictionary (Merriam-Webster), it is a cultural movement associated especially with rap music and is the stylized rhythmic music that commonly accompanies rap also.



When hip hop started..

The elements of Hip Hop came together in the Bronx borough of New York City. It was the early 1970s and times were tougher than usual for the poorer parts of urban America. From a whole lot of nothing—and a whole lot of imagination—Hip Hop took form. Jamaican-born DJ Clive "Kool Herc" Campbell pioneered the use of DJing percussion "breaks" in hip hop music.



Where hip hop was born?

Like any style of music, Hip Hop has roots in other forms, and its evolution was shaped by many different artists, but there's a case to be made that it came to life precisely on August 11, 1973, at a birthday party in the recreation room of an apartment building in the west Bronx, New York City.



Which hip hop artist has the most grammys?

Jay Z has 2. Hard Knock Life for 1998. Currently tied with Kanye West, Jay Z holds the distinction of rapper with the most GRAMMY wins in history.



Who created hip hop?

The location of that birthplace was 1520 Sedgwick Avenue, and the man who presided over that historic party was the birthday girl's brother, Clive Campbell—better known to history as DJ Kool Herc, founding father of hip hop.



Why Hip Hop dance is the best?

Hip Hop dance is a lot of fun and there's so much history to learn about the different styles that came from Hip Hop in the beginning and you get to join a community full of really talented people who love to dance and can share these moments with. Old school Hip Hop is very beneficial for those wanting to learn more about Hip Hop and get better at dance.



How will Hip Hop dance benefit you?

Honestly, Hip Hop dance is a full body work out. It has both aerobic and anaerobic health benefits. Raising your heart rate protects your cardiovascular health. Hip Hop dance moves can also strengthen the muscles in your arms, legs, and core which also improves bone and joint health.
